Flourishing is your birthright
BLACK LADY CAMP
Black Lady Camp, for ambitious Black women who want to live a life that prioritizes their joy, genius and well-being.
We will do this together in an affirming community.
We will call in our creativity.
We will call in our ancestral wisdom.
We will call in our moxie.
We will wield our power to flourish and be free.
This is professional and personal development specifically for Black women leaders who do so much for others and are ready to choose themselves.
Black Lady Camp is not just about rest—it is about strengthening the internal and strategic foundations required for long-term leadership.
Organizations invest significantly in recruiting and retaining strong leaders. Yet too often, Black women in senior roles are expected to perform at exceptional levels while carrying disproportionate stress, visibility, and relational labor. Over time, this can compromise well-being, creativity, decision-making, and retention.
Black Lady Camp addresses this challenge directly by supporting leaders in moving from survival-based leadership to sustainable leadership. The result is not only personal renewal, but stronger leadership performance, greater resilience, and a healthier organizational future.
An 8-month executive coaching and leadership development program created for Black women in senior leadership roles. Designed as a strategic investment in leadership sustainability, the program helps participants strengthen executive capacity, prevent burnout, and lead with greater clarity, resilience, and long-term effectiveness.
Cherese’s facilitation approach is warm, courageous, and deeply intentional, creating a third space where Black women can exhale, be affirmed, and reconnect with their fullest selves. Each Black Lady Camp session is thoughtfully structured to blend creativity, sisterhood, bold reflection, guided rest, and life design, inviting participants to unlearn what weighs them down and make room for more joy, freedom, and personal power. This is a space to be witnessed, nourished, and challenged with love—a vibrant community for Black women ready to flourish with moxie and intention.

BLACK LADY CAMP
CHERESE BRAUER
Hello! I’m Cherese Brauer and I deeply support brilliant Black Women leaders as they deliver the best work of their lives. From teacher to CEO, I was empowered by my 20+ years of transformative impact in public education. I founded two high-performing public charter schools that still yield game-changing results for children from historically underserved communities in Washington, DC. During the COVID global pandemic, I led as CEO of a large public charter school system where I navigated the pandemic’s fierce headwinds and volatility, maintained momentum of growth, opening new schools each year, while ensuring the organization realized its mission.
I fell ill from exhaustion and took a year-long sabbatical and learned to take true and exceptional care of myself. In that time I trained and became a Certified Professional Coach, with the goal to actively counter the narratives of workaholism, exhaustion, and self-abandonment of Black women in leadership - none of which are required for success.
Black Lady Camp is my act of love to help other Black women proactively avoid this plight. Countering the occupational phenomena of burnout and the “glass cliff” for Black Women leaders is a key tenet of my coaching, mentoring, and consulting.

Growth and success,
in their words…
Cherese is an extraordinary coach whose approach weaves together somatic awareness and grounded, real-world knowledge in a way that feels both deeply personal and profoundly effective. If you've ever felt disconnected from your own strength, Cherese has a way of bringing you back to it — gently, powerfully, and with so much heart.
Renita L., DEIB Practitioner
I hope that as many black women as possible have opportunities to grow and find their way through this coaching. Cherese has pushed me to reframe my thinking, push past limiting beliefs, own my strengths, acknowledge my wins and see the opportunities for growth in every experience.
- Princess W., Director of Leadership Development
It was my life line and helped me grow and develop into a stronger and more powerful black woman.
Denise P., Executive Director of School Operations
My leadership coaching allowed me to have more healthy difficult conversations (be confident and get to the point), helped me to honor myself (advocate and honor my time, even though that was hard), and utilize my helpers (I needed to stop putting so much on myself).
- Felicia E., School Leader
