Black Lady Camp is not just about rest—it is about strengthening the internal and strategic foundations required for long-term leadership.
Organizations invest significantly in recruiting and retaining strong leaders. Yet too often, Black women in senior roles are expected to perform at exceptional levels while carrying disproportionate stress, visibility, and relational labor. Over time, this can compromise well-being, creativity, decision-making, and retention.
Black Lady Camp addresses this challenge directly by supporting leaders in moving from survival-based leadership to sustainable leadership. The result is not only personal renewal, but stronger leadership performance, greater resilience, and a healthier organizational future.

Black Lady Camp is an intimate leadership and life design experience created for brilliant Black women who are ready to flourish in leadership and in life. Designed for Black women organizational leaders, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and women navigating life transitions, Black Lady Camp offers a safe harbor in community—a trusted space to pause, reflect, reconnect with yourself, and intentionally design a life aligned with what you truly want.
This experience is rooted in the belief that Black women deserve more than survival. We deserve lives that make room for joy, clarity, well-being, creativity, and meaningful support. Black Lady Camp is a space where Black women can be held in community while making real shifts in how they live, lead, and take exceptional care of themselves.
Through individual coaching, virtual group sessions, and an immersive in-person retreat, participants are supported in creating lives that feel more nourishing, aligned, and sustainable. Black Lady Camp is both a personal and collective invitation to choose flourishing—deliberately, courageously, and now.

Hello! I’m Cherese Brauer and I deeply support brilliant Black Women leaders in remaining whole and well as they do some of the best work of their lives. From teacher to CEO, I am empowered by my 20+ years of transformative impact in public education. I founded two high-performing, public, charter schools that continue to yield game-changing results for children from historically underserved communities in Washington, DC. During the height of the COVID-19 global pandemic, I had the honor to lead as CEO of a large public charter school system in Northern California, where I was called to navigate the pandemic’s fierce headwinds and volatility as the head of a talented team, to maintain momentum in opening new schools while ensuring that the organization realized its mission.
I crashed, burned out, and to my surprise, got really sick. I took a year-long career break and learned to take true and exceptional care of myself. This helped form my core work as a Certified Professional Coach. I actively counter the narratives of workaholism, exhaustion, and self-abandonment for Black women - none of which are required for success. Black Lady Camp is my act of love to help other Black women proactively avoid this plight.
Countering the occupational phenomenons of burnout and the “glass cliff” for Black Women leaders is a key tenet of my coaching, mentoring, and consulting.
